Solar Industries India Limited announced on September 14, 2026, that its wholly owned step-down subsidiary, Solar SA Investments Proprietary Limited, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100 per cent of the issued ordinary shares of South African chemicals firm Omnia Holdings Limited for approximately $1.355 billion (Rs 12,951 crore) in an all-cash transaction.

NPCI has also proposed a 0.02% MDR on certain UPI transactions related to capital markets from the same date, though a National Traders' Welfare Board member has urged the Centre to withdraw the newly introduced 0.4% rate.
