RBI approves ICICI Prudential stake acquisitions in four banks

ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company Limited received Reserve Bank of India approval to acquire up to 9.95% of paid-up share capital or voting rights in CSB Bank, DCB Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and AU Small Finance Bank within one year. Separately, the RBI approved Life Insurance Corporation to acquire up to 9.99% of ICICI Bank's paid-up share capital or voting rights within one year.

Finance ministry sets RuPay and UPI transaction charges

The Finance Ministry notified that UPI transactions of up to Rs 2,000 and payments made using RuPay debit cards will not attract any charges, while the Merchant Discount Rate applies to RuPay debit card and UPI transactions above Rs 2,000 made to merchants.

The Reserve Bank of India absorbed ₹3,93,352 crore through a variable rate reverse repo auction on Tuesday. The RBI also conducted a 30-day variable rate reverse repo auction for ₹7 lakh crore on September 7, 2026.

Mazagon Dock invests Rs 27,000 crore in shipbuilding cluster

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd will invest around Rs 27,000 crore to establish a greenfield shipbuilding cluster at Dighi in Maharashtra's Raigad district. The project is expected to generate approximately 90,000 jobs and expand the country's shipbuilding capacity.
