The Nifty Metal index was up over 1 percent on the National Stock Exchange in Wednesday’s intra-day deals, with gains led by a strong rise of up to 4 percent in Steel Authority of India, Welspun Corp, Vedanta and Lloyds Metals and Energy.
Metal stocks were trading higher on Wednesday, with the Nifty Metal index gaining 1.44 per cent to 13,176.90 around 11:10 am.
The Nifty Metal index jumped 1.19% to Rs 13,01.
